COSMETIC & FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years for facial and cosmetic enhancement. As we age, we tend to lose muscle tone, as well as collagen and elastin in our skin.Acupuncture can be utilized to tighten the muscles of the face, and increase production of collagen to produce a more youthful appearance. During a facial acupuncture session, a personalized treatment plan will be devised for each patient based on your areas of concern. Needles will be placed on the body to treat the underlying constitutional imbalance, as well as the face to improve our outer appearance. Other modalities such as facial massage, gua sha, cupping, microcurrent, LED light, and microneedling can also be utilized to enhance treatment.
Facial Gua Sha
Gua sha consists of gentle stimulation of the skin utilizing a specialized tool made of stones and minerals. Rose quartz, amethyst, jade and citrine are among some of my favorites to use with patients. It is very relaxing, as well as soothing to the senses. A light oil is first applied to the skin, and light pressure is applied. Gua sha can reduce puffiness in the skin, reduce fine lines as well as promote the proper drainage of lymphatic fluid. The results will amaze you.
Cupping is also used in conjunction with facial treatment. It is similar to gua sha in that it also helps to reduce puffiness, and fine lines, and promotes lymphatic drainage. It effectively removes toxins and stagnation in the muscle layer, and helps restore balance to the body. A light oil is first applied to the skin, and then light suction is utilized on the face and neck.
Microcurrent is approved for aesthetic use by the FDA. It uses gentle electric impulses to stimulate the muscles on the face. Over a series of treatments, it helps to ease tension in the muscles that cause wrinkles. It also improves circulation and collagen production resulting in more youthful looking skin. It lifts sagging muscles of the face, which can enhance and prolong facial treatments.

LED Light Therapy
LED light can also be utilized in cosmetic and facial enhancement treatments. Different wavelengths of LED light have been used for many years for conditions such as pain. It has more recently been approved for the treatment of wrinkles, as well as skin conditions such as acne. In conjunction with other treatment modalities, in can enhance and prolong the results of treatment, taking years off someone's appearance.
Microneedling (coming soon...)
A series of mirconeedling sessions can gently and effectively remove imperfections in the skin due to sun damage, acne scarring, and the effects of aging. It can reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the amount of collegen and elastin production in the skin. The treatment is also enhanced by the application of serums including hyaluronic acid. Microneedling can be performed on the face, neck and hands. The results are amazing!
